Oleksandr R. Olkhovych (Profesor)

Soldier Oleksandr Olkhovych (call sign Professor) was killed on September 10, 2022, near the village of Lozove in the Kherson region. While carrying out a combat mission, the fighter sustained fatal injuries during an enemy tank shelling. The defender was 41 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Hlukhivtsi in the Vinnytsia region. He lived in Vinnytsia. He graduated from the Vinnytsia National Technical University and obtained a degree as a mechanical engineer. He worked at a private enterprise "Kozak+". In his free time, he enjoyed fishing. During the full-scale war, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his homeland. He served in the 101st Battalion of the 61st Separate Mechanized Brigade. “My father had golden hands, was very knowledgeable, hence the call sign Professor. As his comrades note, he could handle any equipment. For our family, he has been a Hero since the first days of the full-scale war and a true role model. My father was a nationalist and was guided by the principle 'A strong family makes a strong country,'” said Mykola Olkhovych. The soldier was buried in his hometown. His mother, wife, and three sons did not live to see their defender return.
