- 33-year-old sailor Oleksandr Fedorovych (call sign Chyhyryn) was killed on July 28, 2023 near the settlement of Urožaine in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received a fatal mine-explosive injury. Oleksandr was born in the city of Horlivka, Donetsk region. In 1998, he moved with his family to the village of Raceve in the Cherkasy region. There he finished school. In 2013, he completed his studies at the Cherkasy State Technological University with a degree in "Construction". He worked on construction sites. Since 2018, he has been a construction engineer at the SPORT-IN group of companies. He adored his work and became a true professional in his field. He was respected by management and subordinates, they always consulted with him and listened to his opinion. He was able to solve tasks of varying complexity. Under his leadership, teams built football and volleyball courts, running tracks, and tennis courts in all corners of Ukraine. He also loved sports very much. He was passionate about chess, took part in competitions, and won prizes. During the full-scale war, the man without hesitation stood up to defend his country from the occupiers. Oleksandr served in the 38th separate brigade of the marine corps of the Ukrainian Navy. He held the position of intelligence officer in the reconnaissance platoon. "Sasha was a good, kind, and bright person. Reliable, honest, conscientious, fair, he had his own views and beliefs. He was always a patriot of his Ukraine! He was a man of his word! Whatever he took on, he did it diligently and successfully. He always came to everyone's aid. He had a big, kind heart. Despite everything, he remained positive, cheerful, and a smile never left his lips. He was the sun for all of us. When Sasha's father was killed, he became the head of the family, taking care of his mother and two younger sisters. He was the best caring dad, a true role model for our three sons, the best loving husband. He loved and valued our family above all else. We had many plans and dreams for life, dreamed of growing old together. I have parents and children, but without him I am orphaned. He gave his life for us, for the peaceful sky over Ukraine. I will never understand why the sky takes the best... Eternal and bright memory to our heroes!" - shared his wife Kateryna. The marine was buried in the village of Raceve in the Cherkasy region. Oleksandr is survived by his mother, wife, three sons, two sisters, and other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
