Oleksandr S. Hruzovenko

Born on November 5, 1978, in the city of Kyiv to a family of builders. From 1989 until the early 1990s, he lived with his family in Mongolia. He graduated from the 9th grade of general education school No. 282 in Kyiv, then attended the Kyiv Geological Exploration Technical School (now the College of Geological Exploration Technologies of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv) specializing in "geologist." In the 1990s, he served in the National Guard of Ukraine. He served in the 3rd company of special forces of the 2nd special forces battalion of the 14th National Guard of Ukraine regiment (military unit 4114, Lviv). He worked as a builder and installer throughout Ukraine and abroad. In August 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a reconnaissance machine gunner in the reconnaissance platoon of the 1st mechanized battalion of the 28th separate guards mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0666 (field post V0095), the urban-type settlement of Chornomorske in the Kominternivskyi district (since 2016 - Lymanskyi district) of Odesa region). Since the fall of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On December 18, 2014, in the area of the village of Novomykhailivka in the Marinka district of Donetsk region, the column, which included soldier Hruzovenko, was ambushed and fired upon by militants. During the battle, the serviceman received a fatal gunshot wound to the heart. He was buried in Kyiv on December 24, 2014.
