Oleksandr S. Kocherhin

Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Kocherhin (call sign Iveco) was killed on June 27, 2024 during an enemy mortar attack in the village of Udy, Kharkiv region. The warrior was forever 45 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Ordzhonikidze (now Pokrov) in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the Nikopol Agricultural College. He had a secondary specialized education. He worked as a security guard at the Pokrovsky Mining and Processing Plant. During the full-scale war, he took up the defense of Ukraine as part of the 17th Separate Tank Brigade. He held the position of senior driver of the 1st rifle squad of the 3rd rifle platoon of the 1st rifle battalion. "They always said about the man that when he came somewhere, the sun seemed to rise, because he was always smiling, kind, and polite. He always helped everyone. Everyone in the city knew him, Sasha had golden hands, he repaired gas equipment, and never refused anyone," said the deceased's wife Tetiana. The defender was buried in his hometown. Oleksandr left behind a wife and two sons. Posthumously, the rank of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Pokrov" was conferred on Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Kocherhin.
