Oleksandr S. Krol

28-year-old soldier Oleksandr Krol was killed in action on May 26, 2022, in the area of the village of Synetskyi, Luhansk region. During the rotation, the defender, along with his comrades, came under mortar fire. Oleksandr was born in the village of Oleksandropillia, Luhansk region. He graduated from the Popasna Professional Lyceum of Railway Transport, lived in Popasna. He worked as a rigger at the PVRZ, later went to work in Poland. Sashko was interested in astronomy, stars, planets and everything related to this. During the full-scale war, Oleksandr defended Ukraine and his native Luhansk region as part of the 2nd Special Purpose Battalion "Donbas" of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was a radio telegraphist of the communication department of the battalion's combat support platoon. "Sasha grew up as a very kind boy, was attentive to everyone, tried to help, always took care of his family and friends. After the full-scale invasion of Russia into the territory of Ukraine, he gathered and went to the unit as a volunteer: to defend his Motherland, he was very hurt by his native city of Popasna," his mother Lyudmyla said. The defender was buried in the village of Zaturyne, Poltava region. Oleksandr left behind his parents, sister, and grandmother. Posthumously, soldier Oleksandr Krol was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
