Oleksandr S. Lazovskyi

Oleksandr Serhiiovych Lazovskyi was born in the urban-type settlement of Vapniarka, Vinnytsia region, in a military family. After graduating from the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National Air Force University, he began service as a helicopter Mi-24 flight engineer as part of the 11th Separate Brigade of Army Aviation. Later, he mastered the Mi-8 helicopter. Participant of the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he continued to defend the Ukrainian sky. On March 15, 2022, the crew of the Mi-8 helicopter destroyed about 12 pieces of equipment and 40 Russian invaders in the area of Mariinka, Donetsk region. The helicopter was then shot down by the enemy. Oleksandr Lazovskyi was buried at the Matviivske cemetery in Mykolaiv. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
