Oleksandr S. Martyniuk (Martyn)

Soldier Oleksandr Martynyuk (call sign Martyn) died on November 29, 2022 during the battle for the city of Soledar in Donetsk region. In December, the warrior would have turned 41 years old. Oleksandr was born and lived in Kharkiv. He graduated from the Kharkiv Automobile Transport Technical School named after S. Ordzhonikidze with a specialty in "Organization of Transportation and Management in Road Transport". Before the full-scale war, he worked as a loader in the Klas store network. In his free time, he loved to go fishing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to protect his country and home from the enemy. He served in the ranks of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar". He held the position of a grenadier. During his service, he was awarded the medal "For Courage in Battle". "My husband was very brave, courageous and cheerful. He always came to the aid of people," said Svitlana Martynyuk. The defender was buried in cemetery No. 18 in Kharkiv. Oleksandr is survived by his wife and son.
