Oleksandr S. Pavliuk (Khort)

Senior soldier Oleksandr Pavliuk (call sign Khort) was killed on September 6, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission to infiltrate the enemy's positions in the area of the village of Verbove, Zaporizhia region. The warrior was 26 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Babyntsi, Vinnytsia region. He received his education at a military school. In 2016-2019, he participated in the ATO / JFO. He fought as part of the 79th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He left the army after the end of the contract, and decided not to conclude the next one due to the birth of his daughter. He worked various jobs. In his free time, he loved to go fishing. In 2022, the man voluntarily took up arms again to defend his Homeland. He took an active part in the defense of Irpin in the Kyiv region. He personally evacuated dozens of civilians. The warrior repeatedly carried out assaults on Russian positions as part of the SBU's operational and combat group. He was a military intelligence officer. At the time of his death, Oleksandr was a senior reconnaissance sniper of the 2nd category of the reconnaissance platoon of one of the military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "He was very sociable, he helped everyone as much as he could, he would even give away the last thing," said the wife of the fallen Yulia. The hero was buried in his native village. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, wife, daughter, sisters and brothers.
