Oleksandr S. Rakovskyi (Rocky)

Rakovskyi Oleksandr Serhiiovych was born on July 2, 1993, in the village of Vysoka Pich, Zhytomyr district, Zhytomyr region. He graduated from the local secondary school, entered the Zhytomyr Vocational School No. 6, where he obtained the profession of an electric welder. He worked in his profession for several years. With the outbreak of the war in the East, he was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Starting from 2014, he repeatedly stayed in the Donbas as part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation and the Joint Forces Operation. He served in the 26th Artillery Brigade, which was named after Major General Roman Dashkevych in May 2019. In 2016, he was transferred to the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade in Zhytomyr. In June 2020, he was discharged from military service. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was at the forefront as part of the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. He was a senior non-commissioned officer on a contract. He was killed in the morning of March 7, 2022, as a result of an air strike during the fighting in the Kyiv region. The farewell ceremony for the fallen took place on March 13, 2022, in his native village of the Teteriv rural community in the Zhytomyr region.
