- 34-year-old soldier Oleksandr Reznik (call sign Beard) was killed on July 27, 2023 near the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. During the evacuation of wounded comrades-in-arms, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy artillery shelling. Oleksandr was born in the village of Horodkivka, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the Nemyriv Construction Technical School with a specialty in "Equipment Maintenance and Gas Supply Systems". He worked in his specialty at the Kozeiatyn Alcohol Plant. In 2014, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the man returned to the ranks of the defenders and continued to defend his country from the enemy. He served in a mortar battery of military unit 3028 of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was a gunner. He took part in the defense of Kyiv, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. "Brave, strong, kind, courageous. A beloved husband and wonderful father. He really wanted to fight. And all for the sake of preserving the integrity of Ukraine. Oleksandr Reznik was not only a brave warrior, but also an example of patriotism and self-sacrifice. He was distinguished by great courage and determination in the extraordinary trials at the front. Without fear for his own life, he rescued and helped his comrades-in-arms. Stocky, strong as an oak, brave, strong in spirit and body, full of strength and inspiration, above all he was faithful to the country and loved it. He had a wonderful loving family, enjoyed life, was hardworking. But on the eve of his daughter's birthday, we received the terrible news... He was a true friend, a strong and brave soldier. He was always in a positive mood and lifted the fighting spirit of his comrades-in-arms," wrote the wife of the fallen guardsman Yevheniia. The National Guardsman was buried in the village of Tomashpil, Vinnytsia region, where he lived with his family.
