Oleksandr S. Shkapin

Soldier Oleksandr Shkapin was killed on December 26, 2022 in a battle with the occupiers near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 41 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Rubizhne, Luhansk region. After school, he graduated from the local vocational school. He worked as a printer at the Rubizhne cardboard and packaging plant. In his free time, he loved to fish. During the war, he moved with his family to the Dnipropetrovsk region. In the fall of 2022, after the full-scale invasion of Russian occupiers, the man was drafted into military service in the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Kosh Otaman Kostya Hordiienko. Oleksandr served in the radiation, chemical and biological protection company. "The children from this large and friendly family grew up before my eyes. We evacuated together from the area of active hostilities, lived for some time in the same dormitory in Dnipro. Oleksandr was a very kind-hearted person, took care of his wife and son. When his middle son was wounded at the front, he helped him in the hospital in every possible way. Eternal memory to the bright and very kind person," said neighbor Iryna. The serviceman was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the military cemetery in the city of Kamyanske, Dnipropetrovsk region. His mother, wife, son, grandchildren and two stepsons did not wait for their defender to return from the war.
