Oleksandr S. Zherebkov

Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Zherebkov was killed on July 9, 2023, during the performance of a combat mission in the Donetsk region. The soldier received fatal injuries as a result of enemy artillery shelling. The defender was 28 years old. Oleksandr was born and lived in the village of Kobyzhcha, Chernihiv region. He studied at a secondary school of I-III degrees. In 2013, he graduated from the Mrynske Vocational and Technical School and obtained the qualification of an electrician for the repair and maintenance of electrical equipment. He then worked as a specialist in the Bobrovytsia district electrical networks. He served mandatory military service in the National Guard of Ukraine. After demobilization, he worked as a security guard. During the full-scale war, Oleksandr was mobilized into the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since September 2022, he has served in the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade. He held the position of squad commander. He defended the Donetsk region. In January 2023, he was wounded near Soledar, but quickly returned to his comrades-in-arms after treatment. The military was buried in his native village in the Chernihiv region. Oleksandr is survived by his mother, sister, relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.
