- Serviceman Oleksandr Kurochka (call sign Prymara) was killed on January 17, 2023, while performing a combat mission near the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. The defender was 38 years old. Oleksandr was born in Vinnytsia. He studied at the I-III degree general education school - Humanitarian and Aesthetic Collegium No. 29. In 2003, he graduated from Vinnytsia Higher Vocational School No. 5, obtaining the qualifications of a sanitary and technical systems and equipment installer, an electric and gas welder, and a metal craft producer. Later, he obtained the qualifications of a sports judge and coach at the Kyiv National University of Physical Education and Sports. He worked at his alma mater as a Docando (karate) coach. During the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to defend his native country from the enemy. He served in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. He held the position of a reconnaissance sapper. In 2022, he received a commendation from the battalion commander for a significant personal contribution to the protection of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, and for the rescue of people during the shelling of dormitories in Chasovyi Yar. "Oleksandr was the best father and husband in the world. He had a lot of friends because he was a good and cheerful person. Everyone respected him and now supports us with our daughter, for which I am very grateful," shared Oksana Mushket. Oleksandr was buried at the Sabarivske Cemetery in Vinnytsia. At home, he was awaited by his parents, wife, daughter, other relatives, friends, and loved ones.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
