- Soldier Oleksandr Boreiko (call sign Buryk) died on January 27, 2023, in the area of Hulyaipole, Zaporizhzhia region. During the performance of a combat mission, the fighter was blown up by an enemy anti-tank mine. He was 33 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Kazanka, Mykolaiv region. He graduated from the Polytechnic College of Kryvyi Rih National University and obtained the profession of a driver-mechanic. In peacetime, he worked as a tractor driver. During the full-scale war, the man fought for his Homeland as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. "My brother was a very cheerful person, known to the whole community. I miss him very much. He loved to walk noisily and cheerfully. With him, no one knew what sadness and boredom were. Eternal memory," shared the cousin of the deceased Olena Boreiko. "Sanka, eternal memory! Heroes do not die. You will forever remain in our hearts, smiling, cheerful, kind. Condolences to the relatives... I don't believe it... Rest in peace," wrote acquaintance Maryna Didych. The defender was buried in his native village.
