- Soldier Oleksandr Boretskyi (call sign Buryi) was killed on October 8, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission as a result of artillery shelling near the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhia region. Oleksandr was born in Kyiv. He obtained a professional education as an agronomist, graduating with honors. He worked as a security guard at the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office. He lived with his family in the village of Stari Petrivtsi in the Kyiv region. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he delivered humanitarian aid and evacuated civilians who were at that time in the temporarily occupied territory. He helped police officers with reburials. For this, he received gratitude from the Kyiv Regional State Administration and the Vyshhorod District Military Administration. He took up the defense of Ukraine, joining the ranks of the 3rd Battalion of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. He held the position of assistant machine gunner. He underwent training abroad. "Everyone who knew Oleksandr says that he was a worthy person, a wonderful comrade, a brave brother-in-arms, a good father. Kind, sensitive, he never refused anyone help," said family friend Yulia Ivannikova-Katsimon. The warrior was buried in the Alley of the Fallen Heroes of the cemetery in the Petrivska community. Oleksandr is survived by his wife and two daughters.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
