- Military serviceman Oleksandr Horbach engaged in his last battle on May 7, 2024, near the village of Torske in the Donetsk region. The defender was killed in action while carrying out a combat mission. He did not live to see his 38th birthday by four days. Oleksandr was born in the town of Vorozhba in the Sumy region. For seven years, he worked on the railway. He held the position of a 4th category repair mechanic at the Chernihiv motor car depot. With the onset of the Russian-Ukrainian war, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine. From the first day of the full-scale invasion, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a grenade launcher. To his friends, Oleksandr was remembered as a strong-willed, fair, determined, kind, and sociable man. His colleagues respected and valued him as a skilled master of his craft. "He was not afraid of difficulties, did not bow his head before adversities, and was always ready to help others. He had plans for the future, dreamed of raising his son to be a true man, and believed that Ukraine would be strong, wealthy, and independent," said his railway colleagues about the fallen defender. Oleksandr is survived by his wife and son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
