Oleksandr V. Horobets (Ptashka)

Soldier Oleksandr Horobets (call sign Ptashka) was killed on December 5, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. The fighter was 33 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Smyha, Rivne region. He stuwas killed at the local secondary school. Then he graduated from the Myrohoshcha Agrarian College. After his studies, he mainly worked abroad. He loved to spend his free time with friends. He dreamed of his own business, a family, and a peaceful future. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man became a serviceman of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the ranks of the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade, holding the position of senior gunner. "He was always with a sincere smile, positive, intelligent, hardworking. He was an extraordinarily kind and bright person. His comrades-in-arms say that he had a good sense of humor and even in difficult moments, thanks to him, they smiled. Good, bright memory of you and gratitude for your feat will forever remain in our hearts. Eternal memory to the defender of Ukraine! We will never forget... Heroes do not die! Glory to the heroes!" - wrote a close person of the fallen. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, Oleksandr was awaited by his parents, sister, and two children.
