Oleksandr V. Ilkov

Ilkov Oleksandr Volodymyrovych was born in 1975 in the village of Romaniv, Zhytomyr region. He participated in the war in Eastern Ukraine, was a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was abroad. However, he left his job and immediately returned to his homeland. Without going home, in Lviv, he immediately joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. He was killed on April 8, 2022 near the city of Popasna in the Luhansk region. The farewell ceremony took place on April 14, 2022 in his native village of Romaniv, Zhytomyr region. For personal courage and selfless actions displayed in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath, Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Ilkov was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree (posthumously).
