- Soldier Oleksandr Ivashyna was killed on February 26, 2022, while defending the Chernihiv region. Oleksandr was born in the village of Ladan in the Chernihiv region. In 1993, he graduated from the Kyiv Geological Exploration Technical School of the State Committee for Geology of Ukraine and completed his compulsory military service. In 1999, he obtained a degree in economics from the Chernihiv Technological Institute. He held managerial positions throughout his career. His last job was as the deputy director of LLC "Siveragroproduct" in Chernihiv. He was passionate about history, politics, and economics and had an interest in numismatics. On February 26, he went to the military enlistment office to take up arms to be able to protect the residents of his building together with other men in case of street fighting. At the enlistment office, he voluntarily joined the military service as a private soldier in the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. He was deployed to positions near the village of Krasne outside Chernihiv. There, he came under fire and was killed from chest injuries and massive bleeding. "He became a father to my daughter from my first marriage, Iryna. We were preparing for our daughter's wedding in March 2022, and by September 2022, we planned to officially formalize our relationship. He never stood aside because he cared about what his Ukraine would be like. As a responsible leader, he had leadership qualities: discipline, professionalism, self-confidence, and sociability. He had a special charisma that allowed him to attract people to him. He was respected among managers and subordinates. Determined, brave, serious, with an analytical mind, he was also a kind, cheerful, and intelligent person. For me, he was my Universe, my support, my strength, and my hope..." said the beloved woman of the deceased, Svitlana, with whom he lived in a civil marriage for 10 years. The defender was buried in Yalivshchyna in the Chernihiv region. Oleksandr is survived by his father, son, daughter, sister, and wife.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
