Oleksandr V. Khantil (Khan, Liashch)

Sailor Oleksandr Khantil (call sign Lyashch, Khan) was killed on October 24, 2023, during an assault in the area of the village of Krynky in the Kherson region. The defender was 36 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Zamistia, Chernihiv region. He had a secondary education. He lived in Kyiv. He worked as a security guard. He loved fishing and cycling very much. He found his love and planned to get married at the end of 2023. The man was called up for military service on July 11, 2023. He served in the 35th separate brigade of the Naval Infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a rifleman-medic. He defended Donetsk, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. "You were kind, honest, unselfish - you always cared for others more than for yourself. We will always remember you. You left life, but not from the heart. I don't want anything, I just want one thing: the beat of the dear heart next to my heart. Let fate carry me like a speck of dust over the earth, give me a moment - and the sorrows will be forgotten. And the past will all melt away, like sad ghosts, and your beloved face will shine for me," wrote the deceased's beloved Olena Shapoval. The marine was buried at the Lisovyi Cemetery in Kyiv. Oleksandr is survived by his mother, older brother and fiancée.
