Oleksandr V. Koziar (Kozyr)

40-year-old senior soldier Oleksandr Kozyar (call sign Kozir) was killed in action on August 6, 2022, during a battle for the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region. While saving a comrade under enemy artillery fire, he received a fatal shrapnel wound. Oleksandr Kozyar was a native of the city of Malyn, Zhytomyr region. He graduated from city school No. 4. He was fond of freestyle wrestling and won the title of candidate for master of sports. He loved fishing. He worked for the Kyiv-based company "EuroPack". He was married, raising three children, to whom he devoted his free time. On February 24, 2022, the man went to the front. He served in the reconnaissance of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. "A good, loving, attentive husband and father, a brave Hero," noted the deceased's wife Iryna. The defender was buried on the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in his native Malyn. At home, Oleksandr's parents, wife, and three children were waiting for him. The warrior was posthumously awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the Malyn Territorial Community".
