Oleksandr V. Krolenko (Kot)

Major Oleksandr Krolenko (call sign Kot) was killed on June 17, 2022 during an intelligence mission in the Donetsk region. The officer came under enemy artillery fire and was killed in a car accident. He was 51 years old. Oleksandr was born in Vuhledar, Donetsk region. He graduated from the Ussuriysk Higher Military Command School and the Abakumov Donetsk Technical School. In 1993-1997, he served in a tank regiment in the Luhansk region. After his discharge, he returned to his hometown. He worked as an underground electrician at a mine. In his free time, he was engaged in beekeeping. He built his own solar and wind power plants and converted his country house to green energy. He loved life and always helped those around him. From the first days of the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the local 105th separate battalion of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his native Donetsk region. He was the head of the reconnaissance group. "I love him endlessly... I am grateful for all the years we lived together, for taking care of me day and night, for helping people with their personal matters. It was difficult to live next to him, but it is unbearable without him!" - said the defender's wife Iya. Oleksandr was buried at the Saburovskoye cemetery in Vinnytsia region. The officer is survived by his wife and son.
