Oleksandr V. Lymar (Voron)

Sergeant Oleksandr Lymar (call sign Raven) was killed on March 19, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. He sustained fatal injuries during enemy artillery shelling. In February, the defender turned 53 years old. Oleksandr was born and lived in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region. He had a secondary education. In civilian life, he was engaged in repairs. He worked as an entrepreneur. He spent his free time with his family. He loved to cook. During the full-scale Russian invasion, in September 2022, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a soldier of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He held the position of squad commander. He fought on the eastern front. "I love you very much. I have no one closer to you," wrote the deceased's son, Eduard. Oleksandr was buried in his hometown. The defender is survived by his mother, two sons, and a daughter. He was posthumously awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Nikopol".
