Oleksandr V. Maiboroda (Pozharnik)

38-year-old soldier Oleksandr Maiboroda (call sign Pozharnyk) was killed on June 25, 2023 in the area of the village of Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy tank shelling. Oleksandr was from the city of Kremenets, Ternopil region. He graduated from the Kremenets Pedagogical Institute. In peaceful life, he was engaged in European-style renovations of premises. He was interested in films, history, and news in repair work. He knew how to enjoy life. He devoted a lot of time to his son and parents. During the full-scale war, on July 6, 2022, the man was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 55th separate rifle battalion. He was a sapper-radio operator of the engineering and sapper platoon. In January 2023, he went with his comrades-in-arms to defend the Donetsk region. "He was an example of a man, because he really knew how to do everything. He always had time and words for everyone. The main thing in his life was his son, whom he raised himself. This is the kind of person who is hard not to notice. He was intelligent, responsible and prudent. It is very difficult to talk about him in the past tense... I miss you so much, brother... I love you and I'm sad," wrote the sister of the fallen Tetyana Penkala. The defender was buried in his hometown. At home, Oleksandr was awaited by his parents, sister, son, relatives and friends.
