- 46-year-old Sergeant Oleksandr Malofeyev (call sign Hobbit) was killed in action on June 26, 2022, near the village of Mazanivka in Donetsk region. The fighter received a fatal injury while performing a combat mission to clear the forest of Russian occupiers and attempting to evacuate a wounded comrade. Oleksandr was born in the city of Dniproderzhynsk (now Kamianske) in Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from a physical education college. In 2016, he received a degree in psychology from the Berdyansk Pedagogical University. From the age of 15, he professionally engaged in karate. He won victories in competitions, had a black belt. He was part of the leadership of the NGO "Sports Club Kiokushinkai Karate-Do "Busin-Kan" and was a coach at the base of school No. 5 in his hometown. In 2014, Oleksandr volunteered to go to war. As part of the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslavskaya Brigade, he participated in battles in Donbas. In the summer, in a fierce battle near Yampil, he received his first injury. On January 20, 2015, in the area of the Butivka mine near Donetsk Airport, he was injured for the second time. After a long rehabilitation, he returned to war. In 2020, he defended the city of Shchastya, Luhansk region. He was awarded the breastplate "For Military Valor". From the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Oleksandr with his comrades defended the city of Avdiivka. "Determined, persistent. During the war, Sasha acquired another family - a family of comrades. These are people he valued and respected above all. Until the moment of his death, he was always at zero and always said: "Victory will be ours". A mega-positive person, always smiling, cheerful, the soul of the company. Sasha dreamed of being a professional military man from childhood, read a lot, was interested in history, stu military affairs, collected knives. And tried to convey all the skills and knowledge to his son. He adored children, had experience communicating with kids, because from the age of 13, he raised his little sister", - said the wife of the deceased. The defender was buried on the Alley of Heroes of the military cemetery in his native Kamianske. Oleksandr left behind his wife Oksana, son Artem, daughter Alisa, and sister Alona.
