- Scout Oleksandr Mykytiuk (call sign Decorator) was killed on October 28, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Opytne in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 42 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Rivne. He studied at the local school No. 26. He graduated from Rivne Vocational Technical School No. 9. He worked for four years as an electrical engineer at "Ukrtelecom." He then began doing repairs, specializing in working with decorative materials. He loved fishing and was interested in landscape design. He planted boxwood and thuja near his house and grew various varieties of roses. He wanted to try his hand at farming—raising turkeys—but did not have the time. Since 2008, he lived in the town of Berezne in Rivne Oblast. During the full-scale war, he defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a scout. In recent months, he specialized in dropping munitions and mine laying using drones. During his service, he was awarded the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "For Exemplary Military Service" of the III degree, as well as the medal "For Service in Intelligence." "Sashko was a true hero. He never complained that he felt bad or lacked anything. He always said that everything was fine. His comrades said that Sashko saved and helped others more than once. He also captivated with his Ukrainian language. They said he didn't speak it; he sang it," said the defender's wife, Tetiana. The defender was buried in the Luchka area in the town of Berezne. At home, his wife and daughter were waiting for Oleksandr.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
