Oleksandr V. Raida (Rybachok)

Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Raida (call sign Rybachok) was killed while performing a combat mission on June 15, 2023. Near the village of Levadne in the Zaporizhzhia region, he sustained fatal injuries. Oleksandr was 34 years old. He was born in the village of Inzhenerne, Zaporizhzhia region. He graduated from the Zaporizhzhia Electrotechnical College. He worked at the "Klion Group" company, which deals with the import of fish and seafood. In his free time, he loved fishing and hunting. On April 19, 2022, he voluntarily joined the defense of Ukraine. He held the position of commander of the reconnaissance section of unmanned aerial systems of the 23rd separate mechanized brigade. "The life of a young person, a true patriot, with his whole life ahead of him, who was only about to turn 35, has been cut short. May the bright memory of the hero who gave his life for Ukraine become stronger than death and forever remain in the memory of his relatives, friends, and fellow villagers. Oleksandr was killed for the free future of his son, he shielded his wife, parents, sisters, and each of us from the terrible enemy!" - wrote his sister Larysa. The defender was buried in the Alley of Heroes in the village of Chukalivka, Ivano-Frankivsk region. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, wife, son, sisters, and nieces.
