Oleksandr V. Shatokhin (Lehioner)

Sailor Oleksandr Shatokhin (call sign Legioner) was killed on September 7, 2022 near the settlement of Novodonets'ke in the Donetsk region. During the assault, he went first from the group and was blown up on an enemy mine. The warrior was 40 years old. Oleksandr was originally from the city of Sloviansk in the Donetsk region. He graduated from the local school No. 1 and an agricultural college. For several years, he worked in law enforcement, then engaged in entrepreneurial activity. After the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian invaders, the man volunteered to go to the front. Oleksandr joined the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 38th separate brigade of the marine corps. He was wounded, underwent rehabilitation in Truskavets, where he met his future wife. After treatment, he returned to the front line. "We miss him very much... His eternal sleep is our eternal sorrow," wrote the deceased's wife Marychka. The marine was buried in the Alley of Glory in the city of Boryslav, Lviv region. Oleksandr is survived by his mother Alla, wife Mariya and son Danylo.
