- Sergeant Oleksandr Shelemba (call sign Shelenberg) was killed on March 27, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the Kherson region. The warrior was 51 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Krutenke, Kirovohrad region. He studied at the local school. In 1988, he obtained the profession of a driver at the Holovanivsk Vocational and Technical School. He served in the military. When he returned home, he got a job at a sugar factory in the village of Perehonovka. In 1995, he graduated from the Smila Technical School of Food Industry. Since 2001, he has been a private entrepreneur, running an apiary. From the first days of the full-scale war, Oleksandr was engaged in volunteer activities. And in July 2022, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 124th separate brigade of territorial defense. He commanded a machine gun platoon. He took part in the defense of the Kherson region. "Sashko was always responsible, caring, and unfailing. His honesty and patriotism were so strong that nothing stopped him from going to war. They had just buried his father, his mother was sick, and I lived far away, but he said he had to go and defend. During every call, he responded that everything would be fine, a little more, and there would be a victory, everything would be Ukraine. Sashko always responded to any requests. He was sincere, loving, and benevolent. He always worried about everyone, protected them. Patriotism and love for Ukraine were always the top priority. For his kindness and love for the Motherland, he paid with his life," wrote the deceased's sister Oksana. The defender was buried in the village of Perehonovka. Oleksandr is survived by his mother, brother, sister, wife, and son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
