- Born on August 16, 1981, in the city of Pyriatyn, Poltava region. In 1998, he graduated from secondary school No. 4 in the city of Pyriatyn. In 1999, he was drafted by the Pyriatyn Military Commissariat of the Poltava region for compulsory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a driver-electrician in the 6th training artillery regiment of the 169th training center of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0338 - the village of Divichki, Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi district, Kyiv region). In 2001, he was discharged from the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the reserve. From 2001 to 2004, he served under contract at the 121st military equipment storage base of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1112 - the city of Pyriatyn, Poltava region). He worked as a private entrepreneur in passenger transportation. On March 25, 2014, he was mobilized by the Pyriatyn Military Commissariat of the Poltava region into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the rocket battery of the rocket artillery division of the 27th rocket artillery regiment of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (since 2015 - the 27th rocket artillery brigade - military unit A1476 - the city of Sumy). From the summer of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On August 6, 2014, soldier Shlyakhtych was killed during an attempt by militants to attack the positions of Ukrainian troops and capture a strategic height in the area of the Savur-Mohyla mound in the Shakhtarsk district of Donetsk region.
