- Senior soldier Oleksandr Shmik (call sign Nimetс) was killed on August 25, 2022 near the village of Temirivka, Zaporizhzhia region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained fatal mine and explosive injuries. On September 17, the defender would have turned 45 years old. Oleksandr was from the city of Fergana (Uzbekistan). He lived in Zaporizhzhia. He graduated from the Zaporizhzhia Educational and Training Combine, obtaining the profession of painter. He worked as a construction worker, repairing with his team. He loved his work and was constantly improving his professional skills. In 2015-2016, he participated in the ATO as part of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade. He was a scout. Then the man was awarded the medal "For Valor and Bravery". On February 26, 2022, Oleksandr took up arms again and stood to defend Ukraine from Russian invaders. He served in the 110th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of senior shooter. "He was a strong, smiling and kind person. A very good man and a loving father, a reliable comrade. He was always joking and boosting morale! He was an example for his comrades-in-arms! He lived and did everything for our family. Everything he needed for our family to be the happiest! And we were, until this damned war took him from us," said the wife of the deceased. The warrior was buried in the cemetery in the village of Yakovleve, Zaporizhzhia region. He left behind his wife Marina, daughters Karyna and Yevheniia.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
