- Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Shvets (call sign Swede) was killed on October 21, 2023 near the village of Krynky in the Kherson region. He sustained a fatal explosive injury. That day, the warrior was traveling with three comrades to evacuate the wounded. Oleksandr was 25 years old. He was born in the town of Krasnoyilsk in Bukovyna. He lived in the town of Skorokhodove and then in the town of Chutove in the Poltava region. After graduating from the Skorokhodove secondary school, he stuwas killed at Poltava Vocational School No. 23. His profession was a carpenter. In 2016, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and three years later he defended Ukraine in the East. He was engaged in military-patriotic education of children. He was the director of the "Shturm" club and volunteered. During the full-scale invasion, he again took up the defense of Ukraine. He held the position of senior combat medic of the separate reconnaissance company of the 38th Marine Brigade of Ukraine. He was awarded the medals "For Military Service to Ukraine", "For Indomitable Spirit", "Veteran of War", the badge of the Chief of the General Staff, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "For Excellence in Military Service" of the III degree, and the badge of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine "Badge of Honor". "Sasha was a loving husband, the best father, a wonderful son and brother. We are proud of him, he is a true hero. In our hearts, he will forever remain a smiling, bright and kind person," his wife Dariya said. The warrior was buried in the town of Skorokhodove in the Poltava region.
