- Warrior Alexander Simakov (call sign Cossack) was killed in action on March 18, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the vicinity of the village of Novoukrainka in Donetsk region. The defender was 40 years old and did not live to see his next birthday by a month. Alexander was born in the city of Lviv. He worked as a builder. When the Russian-Ukrainian war began in 2014, despite having parents with disabilities, he went to defend Ukraine. He participated in the ATO. Once, at the railway station in Dnipro, Alexander accidentally met Yevgenia, who later became his wife. The couple raised a son. During the full-scale invasion of Russian troops, the man defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 503rd Separate Battalion of the Marine Corps. "Sashko was a true patriot," said the defender's wife, Yevgenia. The serviceman was buried at Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. Alexander left behind his parents, wife, and son. Soldier Alexander Simakov was posthumously awarded the Order "For Courage" III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
