- Soldier Oleksandr Spreis (call sign Spice) was killed on March 11, 2024 in the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, as a result of a shot from an enemy tank. The defender remained forever 38 years old. Oleksandr was from Cherkasy region. He graduated from Hushchyntsi Higher Vocational School No. 32. In civilian life, he worked at a furniture factory. He adored nature and loved to collect mushrooms. On the first day of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily went to the military enlistment office. He was trained in Germany, where he mastered the profession of a grenade launcher. He served in the Zaporizhzhia direction. He held the position of assistant grenade launcher in the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was awarded the decoration of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Golden Cross". "My brother was a very kind, honest and fair person. In the war, he stood out for his courage and humanity. He stood in defense, participated in assaults, carried wounded comrades on himself, took away the bodies of soldiers so that their families could bury them. For eight months he had 42 "zero" exits that lasted five to ten days. His comrades-in-arms listened to his advice and orders, because they sincerely trusted him, respected him for his professionalism, courage, and bravery. He told me: "They think I'm Schwarzenegger, but I'm afraid like everyone else..." - said Natalia Spreis. The body of the fallen was taken from the battlefield a week later, risking his own life, by a serviceman with the call sign Bear. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Glory of the central cemetery in his native village. He left behind a wife, sister and other relatives.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
