- Soldier Oleksandr Tsion was killed on June 28, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Levadne in the Zaporizhzhia region. His assault group was surrounded. Oleksandr sustained serious injuries and was unable to move on his own. Understanding the complexity of the situation, he made the decision to cover the withdrawal of the group, allowing many to escape alive. Oleksandr would have turned 32 years old on July 19. Oleksandr was born in Zaporizhzhia. From childhood, he was passionate about motorcycles and cars. He was a creative person, with an artistic talent from birth. He worked in a private company, engaged in airbrushing and painting on commission. After the start of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the 36th Marine Brigade. He held the position of senior sapper - grenadier of the engineering and sapper platoon of the 1st battalion. During his service, Oleksandr received a number of awards, including the badge "For Exemplary Service". "Sanya was a bright, sincere person. He always rushed to help, found a way out of any situation. Fair, strong, courageous, inventive, a wonderful man, father, friend! He went to defend the Motherland from the first days of the war, trained as a sapper, knew his job perfectly, was one of the best and always went on a mission without hesitation. For a long time he defended the country in the Avdiivka direction. He was killed during the counteroffensive in the Zaporizhzhia direction in June 2023, and we waited for the DNA results for long nine months. This terrible war took him from us! It is very difficult to come to terms with the fact that he will not return. It seems that this pain will never end! The heart breaks when you look at the children who do not understand why this happened, they need their father! Rest in peace, our sunshine! We will always love you, you are forever in our hearts! Eternal memory to the Hero! Glory to the Hero! Our Cat. Your Cats," wrote the warrior's wife Hanna. The defender was buried in the St. Nicholas Cemetery in his native Zaporizhzhia. Oleksandr is survived by his wife, son, daughter, and mother.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
