- 31-year-old Sergeant Oleksandr Vasylenko (call sign Horizon) was killed on March 22, 2024 near the village of Ternі in the Donetsk region. He sustained fatal injuries during enemy shelling as a result of a direct hit of a mine in the trench. Oleksandr was a native of the village of Chernyn in the Kyiv region. He graduated from the Bila Tserkva Mechanical and Energy Technical School with a specialty in "Maintenance and Repair of Equipment of Machine-Building Enterprises". He worked at the Rosava tire plant for some time. In 2017, he became a serviceman of the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) / Joint Forces Operation (JFO). At the time of the full-scale war, he held the position of Chief Sergeant. For his service, Oleksandr was awarded the "Veteran of War" badge and the "Cross of Honor of the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade" medal. "My husband was the best, very kind. He always helped those in need, never refused anyone. He loved his daughter the most. He had a lot of plans and dreams for life, which, unfortunately, he could not realize. Everything he had, he achieved on his own, no one helped him. He was very determined," said Diana Vasylenko. The paratrooper was buried at the Smolyansky Military Cemetery in Zhytomyr. At home, his wife and daughter were waiting for Oleksandr.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
