Oleksandr V. Volikov

Senior soldier Oleksandr Volikov was killed on November 16, 2022 in battle with the occupiers near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. Enemy artillery fire cut short the life of the defender. Two months before this, he turned 31 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Klyusy, Chernihiv region. He studied at the Petrivska secondary school. In 2009, he graduated from the Chernihiv Higher Vocational School and obtained the profession of a turner. He then served his compulsory military service. In civilian life, he worked at the PJSC "ChezaRa" company. With the beginning of the full-scale war, the man defended his country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of driver of the machine gun platoon of the 65th separate rifle battalion. "My brother was a good and sincere person. He always helped everyone. We miss him very much," said the deceased's sister Yevheniia Tkach. "Our fellow countryman was faithful to the military oath, a reliable comrade and friend, and showed himself in service as a true patriot of the Motherland. He worried about the fate of his parents and relatives who remained at home, dreamed of getting married after returning from the war. But fate ordered otherwise..." added the Snovsk City Council. Oleksandr was buried in his native village. The warrior left behind his parents, brother and sister. The hero was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
