Oleksandr V. Voloboi (Mariman)

Soldier Oleksandr Volобoy (call sign Mariman) was killed on July 4, 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Hryhorivka in the Donetsk region. Exactly a month later, on August 4, the defender would have turned 48 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Oleksandrivka, Kirovohrad region. He graduated from Onykiivske SPTU No. 38. Then he worked as a tractor driver. In 1993-1995 he served in the army. Later he worked as a stoker, a worker repairing inventory in the preschool institution "Romashka" in the city of Mala Vyska, where he settled. Since 2008, he has been an employee of the Novokosteantynivska mine. Initially, he was a security guard in the departmental security of the SE "Directorate", then he mastered the profession of a miner. Having received education at the Kryvyi Rih Construction Lyceum, from April 2009 he worked as an electrician for the repair of equipment in the mine section. On December 24, 2022, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade. He held the position of driver-radio operator. He fought in the Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions. "A man with a capital letter, our defender and Hero. I am proud of my husband. He gave everything for us, for a free Ukraine, for peace and tranquility. He gave his life, having so many plans and unfulfilled dreams," said the wife of the fallen Lyudmyla. The defender was buried in the central cemetery in the city of Mala Vyska, Kirovohrad region. At home, Oleksandr was awaited by his mother, wife and three children.
