Oleksandr V. Yakubenko

Born on March 13, 1975, in the city of Skvyra, Kyiv Oblast. In 1990, he graduated from the 8th grade of secondary school No. 2 in the city of Skvyra. On March 20, 2014, he was mobilized by the Skvyra District Military Commissariat of Kyiv Oblast into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a service number in the mortar platoon of the mortar battery of the 3rd mechanized battalion of the 72nd separate guards mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A2167, city of Bila Tserkva, Kyiv Oblast). Since 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On July 10, 2014, soldier Yakubenko was killed during the repulsion of a terrorist attack on the airport of the city of Donetsk (1 kilometer north of the village of Vesele, Yasynuvata District, Donetsk Oblast). He is buried in the Central Cemetery in the city of Skvyra, Kyiv Oblast.
