Oleksandr V. Yurdyha (Zoria)

Defender Oleksandr Yurdyha was killed on February 15, 2023 near the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, the soldier was wounded as a result of enemy mortar shelling. The defender remained forever at the age of 35. Oleksandr was born in Lviv. He obtained a higher legal education at the Lviv State University of Internal Affairs. He worked as a security guard. In his free time, he loved to be with his family, play football, read, and was passionate about video games. He adored animals, especially dogs. After getting married, he moved to the Rivne region, to the village of Zorya. He participated in the ATO in Donbas. During the full-scale war, the man joined the forces of the Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 14th separate rifle battalion "Polissia". He was a platoon commander. "Sashko was kind, sincere, calm, loved his family, and especially his daughter Anechka. He had few but loyal friends with whom he had been friends since childhood. He is forever in our hearts and memory!" - says the deceased's sister. "Your war is over now... How are we to live without you?" - wrote his wife. The defender was buried in the village of Zorya in the Rivne region. At home, Oleksandr was awaited by his wife Kateryna, daughter Anna, mother Tetyana, and sister Oksana.
