- Soldier Oleksandr Zadorozhniy (call sign Sailor) was killed on March 14, 2024 in the village of Zapadne, Kharkiv region. He was caught by an enemy FPV drone, and as a result of mine-explosive injury, the defender was killed on the spot. Oleksandr was 27 years old. He was born in the city of Nova Kakhovka, Kherson region. He worked as a sailor. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man's hometown was occupied by Russian troops. He had a clear pro-Ukrainian position, participated in rallies against the invaders, helped volunteers, and engaged in partisan activities. After leaving the occupation, the family settled in Kyiv, and Oleksandr got a job at a metal profile factory, working as a rigger. Later, he was drafted into military service. At first, Oleksandr served in the 1st separate special purpose brigade named after Ivan Bohun, holding the position of a reconnaissance sapper, and then was transferred to the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Koshovyi Otaman Kost Hordiienko. There he was a UAV specialist. He was awarded a certificate from the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov. "We had just started dating when he went on another voyage. I waited for him for 8.5 months. We were so happy together in this meeting... But two weeks later, the full-scale war began, and the Kherson region was occupied literally within hours. He is the most faithful and loving person I have chosen for myself once and for all. I am devoted to him forever," wrote Mariia Zadorozhnia. Oleksandr was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Forest Cemetery in Kyiv. The warrior is survived by his wife and parents.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
