Oleksandr V. Zubko (Ariiets)

Sergeant Oleksandr Zubko (call sign Ariyets) died on November 22, 2022, in a hospital in Zaporizhzhia. He sustained severe injuries in combat with the occupiers in the area of the village of Neskuchne in the Donetsk region. The defender was 46 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Budychany, Zhytomyr region. He graduated from the Starokostiantyniv vocational school, where he obtained the profession of a gas and electric welder. In 2015-2016, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation as part of the 11th Motorized Infantry Battalion "Kyivska Rus". Then he returned to civilian life. He lived with his family in Kyiv. He worked in various places, and his last job was at the municipal enterprise "Kyivtransparksservice", where he held the position of a tow truck driver. On February 24, 2022, the man without hesitation went to defend his country from the Russian occupiers again. He joined the ranks of the 1st Separate Rifle Battalion of the 1st Separate Tank Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a grenadier. "The best man, the best dad for our children, a warrior who gave his life for the sake of his family and his country..." said the wife of the fallen warrior, Iryna. The hero was buried in his native village.Oleksandr is survived by his parents, wife, daughter, and son.
