Oleksandr Yu. Korovkin

Serviceman Oleksandr Korovkin was killed on December 14, 2022 in a battle with the occupiers near the city of Vuhledar in the Donetsk region. He was 30 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Bryanka, Luhansk region. In childhood, he lived with his family in Vinnytsia region, where he graduated from Potashnya school. Then he obtained the profession of a carpenter in a Kyiv college. He served his military service in the ranks of the National Guard. Then he settled in Fastiv, Kyiv region, and continued to serve in the NGU under a contract. At the end of 2021, he resigned and returned to civilian life, but not for long. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man went to the army again. This time he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a machine gunner in one of the combat units. "He was a skilled serviceman, a good friend, a reliable comrade... The enemy is hitting mercilessly... and took the life of the courageous warrior, defender, hero Oleksandr Korovkin... We share the family's grief over the loss. We will not forgive the enemy for a single lost soul. Eternal memory and eternal glory to the Hero," the Fastiv City Council noted. My heart is breaking into pieces. May the Kingdom of Heaven and eternal memory be yours, Sanka. Deep bow and gratitude for the protection, you are a Hero," wrote his acquaintance Oksana Strokashchuk. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Glory of the International Cemetery in Fastiv, Kyiv region. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, sister, brother, wife and two children.
