Oleksandr Yu. Naumov (Umka)

Lieutenant Oleksandr Naumov (call sign Umka) was killed on August 30, 2023 near the village of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia region, as a result of a hit by an enemy artillery shell. The defender was 21 years old. Oleksandr was born in Netishyn, Khmilnytskyi region. He graduated from the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny. During the full-scale war, he commanded the 2nd self-propelled artillery battery of the 117th separate mechanized brigade. "The best son, the best commander. Ukraine has lost the best officer, and I have lost the most precious thing in my life," said his mother Maria Volodymyrivna. The defender was buried on the Alley of Glory in his native Netishyn. Oleksandr is survived by his parents and sister. Lieutenant Oleksandr Naumov was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd degree.
