Oleksandr Yu. Zinchenko

Captain Oleksandr Zinchenko was killed in action on July 30, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region. In June, the officer turned 24 years old. Oleksandr was born and lived in the village of Sevyrivka, Kyiv region. He stuwas killed in action at Sevyrivka Secondary School. Then he chose the path of a military man for himself. In 2019, he graduated from the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny in Lviv. The same year, the young officer was sent to serve in Donetsk region. He participated in the JFO. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Oleksandr was the commander of an artillery battery in the 56th separate motorized infantry Mariupol brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He continued to effectively destroy the occupiers and defend his native country. On July 7, 2022, he was awarded the rank of captain, and at the end of the month he was killed in action. We all remember Sasha as a cheerful, kind, open and reliable person. He was a real hero, a faithful friend and a fair commander. "Sasha, are you not being released?" - "Well, first, there is no one to replace me, and second, how can I leave 70 people?!", - this is how Sasha corresponded with his favorite teacher. Oleksandr Zinchenko gave his life for Ukraine, for truth and freedom, for a bright future! It's very painful to realize that a young life was cut short in its prime," said friend Anastasia Galatova. The officer was buried in his native village. At home, Oleksandr's father Yuriy and mother Raisa were waiting for him.
