Oleksii A. Sukhorukov (Luhanskyi)

Combat medic Oleksii Sukhorukov (call sign Mongol) was killed on March 19, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the city of Okhtyrka in the Sumy region. The defender is forever 49. Oleksii was born in the city of Fatezh (Russia). He graduated from the Sverdlovsk Medical School and obtained the profession of a paramedic. He later settled in the city of Dnipro. He worked as a radiology technician at Mechnikov Hospital. He grew grapes and was engaged in winemaking. He organized the club of winemakers and winemakers of the Dnipropetrovsk region and was its president. In 2014, the man went to volunteer in the ATO. He fought as part of the Dnipro-1 battalion, where he was a medic. He repeatedly saved his comrades and showed courage during the performance of combat missions. He went through battles in Ilovaisk, for which he was awarded the Order of Courage III degree in 2014. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Oleksii continued to defend Ukraine. He served in the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodny Yar". "My husband was a courageous man, always helped friends and loved his country very much," said the widow of the hero, Alla. The hero was buried in the village of Novopidkryazh in Dnipropetrovsk region. Oleksii is survived by his mother, wife, two sons, and a daughter.
