Oleksii H. Arbuzov (Kum)

Soldier Oleksiy Arbuzov (call sign Kum) was killed in action on June 27, 2022, near the village of Serbryanka in Donetsk region. During a combat clash with the enemy, he received fatal shrapnel wounds as a result of shelling. The warrior was 39 years old. Oleksiy was born and lived in the city of Novoselytsia, Chernivtsi region. He graduated from the local lyceum No. 3. Later, he mastered the profession of an electric gas welder and a cook. He worked in various fields, including being an employee of the "Nay-Nay" store chain before the war. He loved to repair equipment, especially cars, and had time to teach his older son to repair bicycles. He put his whole soul into his family, spending almost all his free time with them. Relatives remember with special warmth their joint walks along the banks of the Prut River. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Oleksiy joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 87th separate airmobile battalion of the 80th separate assault brigade. He was a shooter-sanitarian. "For us, he is the best husband and father. Beloved, you will forever remain in our hearts...", wrote the defender's wife. The paratrooper was buried at the "Malva" cemetery in Novoselytsia. Oleksiy left behind his mother Nina, sister Alona, wife Svitlana, daughter Oleksandra, sons Nikita and Artem. In the summer of 2023, a memorial plaque was installed on the facade of Novoselytsia Lyceum No. 3 in honor of the hero.
