- 35-year-old soldier Oleksiy Dovbush (call sign Volunteer) was killed on July 30, 2024 while performing a combat mission near the settlement of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region as a result of a drone drop. Oleksiy was born in the village of Panivtsi, Ternopil region. He graduated from Kamianets-Podilskyi National University and obtained a qualification as a teacher of mathematics and computer science. He was a well-rounded individual. He loved cars and technology. He always helped others, was able to support and find a common language with anyone. Before the war, he was involved in the installation and arrangement of children's playgrounds. From the first day of the full-scale invasion, the man became a volunteer, evacuating people from Kherson and Kharkiv regions, delivering medicines and food to the Donetsk region. And later he joined the ranks of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the engineering support group of the engineering and sapper company of the 81st separate airmobile brigade. "He was a true patriot, a hero, he always said he had to be there and help the guys. Always smiling and positive. He was the kindest and most sincere. We had so many common dreams and plans. Until the end, he believed in Ukraine, in victory. I always knew he would never leave his comrades-in-arms. He always went first and took responsibility for everything. His last outing was also like that: he went forward and covered his comrades-in-arms. They managed to retreat, but my husband, unfortunately, did not..." - said the wife of the fallen Alina. Oleksiy was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Central Cemetery in Chernivtsi. He was awaited at home by his wife.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
