- Born on January 31, 1970, in the Russian Federation. Lived in the city of Tolyatti, Samara region (Russian Federation). In 1983, moved with his family to the city of Chernihiv. Studied at secondary schools No. 9 and No. 15 in Chernihiv. Graduated from secondary school No. 15 (now Gymnasium No. 15) in Chernihiv. Studied at vocational technical school No. 5 in Chernihiv (now Chernihiv Professional Railway Transport Lyceum). Since 1988, served in the Armed Forces of the USSR/Ukraine. In 1992, graduated from the Kyiv Higher Military Aviation Engineering School with a degree in "electronic communications engineer." Served in the Air Force of Ukraine, particularly in a military unit in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Since the 2000s, Captain O.I. Konovalov - in reserve. Lived in the city of Chernihiv. Worked in the field of factory automation, was a private entrepreneur. Went to Poland for work. In the winter of 2013-2014, actively participated in the Revolution of Dignity on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv, was the deputy commander of the Chernihiv hundred of Maidan. Was a member of the Chernihiv regional "People's Self-Defense" headquarters, a member of the Chernihiv regional organization of the all-Ukrainian association "Svoboda." After the start of Russian aggression in Crimea, participated in setting up checkpoints near Chernihiv, assisted Ukrainian military with equipment repairs. On April 24, 2014, mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Chernihiv Combined Military Commissariat. Served as commander of the 2nd rifle platoon of the rifle company of the 13th battalion of territorial defense of Chernihiv region "Chernihiv-1" (military unit field post V2278 - since November 2014 - 13th separate motorized infantry battalion of the 1st tank brigade of the 8th army corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine). Since May 2014, participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine. Commanded a military unit at a checkpoint near the village of Velyka Chernihivka in the Stanytsia Luhanska district of Luhansk region. In a clash with separatists, was wounded in the leg by a knife. On June 12, 2014, Captain Konovalov died as a result of an accident, receiving an electric shock while conducting electrical wiring (according to the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, he died in the village of Verkhnya Bohdanivka, Bilovodskyi district, Luhansk region).
