Oleksii I. Mazur (Rodeo)

Senior Sergeant Oleksii Mazur (call sign Rodeo) was killed on June 8, 2023, during the evacuation of wounded comrades near the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region. The defender was forever 28 years old. Oleksii was born in the city of Lipovets, Vinnytsia region. He lived in Kyiv. He graduated from the Kyiv University of Civil Engineering and Architecture with a degree in Civil Engineering. He loved cycling, running, jiu-jitsu, hiking in the mountains, "The Lord of the Rings" books, and delicious food. Since 2015, the man has been participating in the Russian-Ukrainian war. He fought in the ATO / JFO in Donbas in the ranks of the Azov regiment. He was a paramedic in the medical company's collection and evacuation unit. In early 2022, Oleksii sustained a knee injury. On February 22, he underwent surgery. Two weeks later, when the stitches were removed, he tried to return to the ranks, but due to the load, complications arose, and he was forced to return and undergo rehabilitation. Therefore, he returned to service a little later. Oleksii could have remained in the rear, but he couldn't, he understood that he had important work to do - to save lives. In March 2023, the man got married, and three months later, he was killed. "Oleksii was an experienced and talented paramedic. He was always learning new things, developing, and sharing his knowledge with others. He was brave, honest, and fair. He always helped everyone, saved both people and animals. Oleksii was a caring son for his mother and the best husband for me. This world has lost a wonderful person who could have saved many more lives. We will never forgive or forget," said the widow of the fallen. The hero was buried in his hometown. At home, Oleksii was awaited by his mother Liudmyla Mykhailivna and his wife Ilona.
